One year, twelve pictures

Astall Barrow in the 1920s in The Land of The Twelve Churches

Photographs by James Lindsay of Woodside House, Shilton

One picture every month for a year of the 7th c. burial mound alongside the A40 near the Windmill roundabout (that you've always meant to stop and look at!) Various pieces of pottery and metalwork were found when the barrow was excavated in the 1920s, when the picture (left) was taken.
